    A. preparation of financial statements (including control accounts)
    B. audit of limited companies
    C. taxation (both personal and corporate)
    D. statutory duties (preparing, recording & issue of share certificates)
    E. VAT & other tax returns
    F. bookkeeping (manual & computerised)
    G. stock taking
  2. Taking responsibility for my work at an early stage
  3. Working as part of audit teams on the larger assignments
  4. Making use of various software packages, including Auditman, Taxman and Taxsoft.


Teaching

1996 - RSA Bookkeeping (Stages 1&2)

Taught adult evening classes for a year, covering basic bookkeeping to RSA levels 1 and 2, which was followed by exams. All my students achieved a thorough understanding of manual double entry bookkeeping and the exam results were superior to previous years.


Tourism

1993 - Melton Borough Council

At the end of the post-graduate course, there was a short work placement in the tourism industry. I gained a place with Melton Borough Council, with the view of designing a self-guided walk leaflet for the town of Melton Mowbray.

This was entirely my own project and I undertook:

This project required very detailed planning, especially given the limited time-scale within which I had to complete the task and co-ordinate with various interested parties and the publishers.
